We all feel big emotions. What do we do when our feelings seem to be taking over? How do we handle all the things inside us? Emojinal is a manual designed to help young children understand, process, and accept big feelings. Using contrasting emotions, the narrative helps children name and understand what they feel. It offers suggestions for healthy and appropriate ways to deal with emotions, and teaches kids how to self-regulate their feelings. The book also provides children with the opportunity to draw or write about their own big emotions. Emojinal is a play on words, combining "emotional" with "emoji." Accompanying illustrations that make use of familiar emojis to show children that emotions are normal. It's all in how we manage them-and how we move on after experiencing a big feeling.

Autorenporträt
Jodian Evans is an Early Childhood Educator with a diploma from Bow Valley College. Every day, Jodian works with children who struggle to identify and regulate their emotions. Sometimes she finds it easier to recommend a book to parents than to give them advice on child-rearing. When she couldn't find just the right book for this particular area, she realized it was time to write her own. In her free time, Jodian loves travelling, cooking, and being outdoors. She lives with her husband and young son.
