Today's world is very competitive and full of stress. Everyone has to build himself to withstand stress and to deal with his emotions. How a person handles his emotions whether competently or incompetently would be challenge, Considering the various aspects of personality, our emotions play an important role. The present study aimed to compare emotional competencies, self-concepts and the level of adjustment of medical and non-medical college students. To assess emotional competence, Self-concepts and level of adjustments, 390 medical college students and non-medical college students were administered and evaluated. The findings indicated that medical students were observed different on emotional competence, level of adjustments and self concept compared to the streams. Overall gender differences were observed on emotional competence. When we consider higher education and professional skills, the demands of the higher education are global, based on the mental abilities, competency skills and knowledge. Taking into consideration the importance of emotional competence in training graduate students, the research suggests the inclusion of the training emotional skills in curriculum.
