There has been an increase in the interest in concept of emotional intelligence in the organizations in past two decade. Earlier researchers were focused only on the cognitive part of intelligence. Later on, psychologists uncovered the role of non-cognitive part of intelligence in lives of individuals. How we perform in life is determined by both- emotional and rational mind. When these partners interact in a suitable manner, emotional intelligence arises. According to researchers emotional intelligence is an ability of an individual which results into increased work performance. This study is an attempt to explore the relationship between emotional intelligence and work performance of front line executives in Indian service sector.
