This study is done to examine if the decline in organizational commitment in subordinates could be turned around and enhanced by their leaders. From previous studies conducted in this area, there were some evidences that the organizational commitment of employees were affected due to the emotional intelligence of their superiors. However, there is a scarcity of knowledge available on it and even lesser on the direct effect of these variables especially in an Asian Context. To add-on to the body of knowledge, a quantitative and non experimental survey based research is done on two types of company, namely a multi national company and a locally owned company in Malaysia. This book discusses on the outcome of this survey and the conceptual framework of leaders' emotional intelligence.

Dr.Choi is an academician in Technological University of Malaysia (UTM). He holds a PhD in Management. His research interest is in HRM & OB. He is also a certified HR consultant & trainer in the corporate sector. His co-author, Ms.Cynthia is currently a HR practitioner and has an MBA from Wawasan Open University (WOU), Malaysia.
