This study presents the analysis of the employment status, economic structure and quality of life among the selected thanas of Dhaka district (The Capital city) of Bangladesh during 1991 and 2001, thereby making a spatial and temporal analysis for these aspects. The focus of the study is on the identification of spatial concentration and change of employments in the selected thanas of Dhaka district. As well as the study analyzes the distribution and disparity of the facilities affecting the quality of life among the thanas. From the study, it is found that these aspects are not equitably distributed over the thanas. The study also reveals that certain thanas are distinguishable as prosperous in terms of a particular variable while some thanas are less prosperous. The study should be especially useful to professionals who are involved in Economics and Employment analysis related fields.
