The present study focuses on assessing the quality of various multimedia English language lab softwares used in engineering colleges (JNTU- Hyderabad) of Andhra Pradesh. A questionnaire is prepared which consists 25 questions. A survey was conducted in Andhra Pradesh state involving ten Engineering colleges which are spread into the three regions (Telangana, Rayalaseema and Andhra). A good number of the students responded that they like multimedia language lab but not happy with existing lab software used in their English language labs. After observing the existing multimedia English language lab they also added that most of the content is theoretical in nature and not real life based. The faculty of engineering colleges also expressed their unhappiness as far as multimedia English language softwares closely and analysing the responses of the students and faculty of engineering colleges, the study arrived at the point that the existing multimedia English language lab softwares are not able to meet the needs of the students. Some recommendations are made only after experimenting and obtaining results from the students.
