The present study makes an attempt to understand the characteristics of an effective sexuality education programme that can promote gains in knowledge of preadolescents regarding Sexuality and Reproductive Health. The sample consisted of 39 preadolescents (11 - 13 years) of 7th standard, studying in a Hindi medium Municipal School. Data were collected using a pre-post test design. However, not much gain was seen in the knowledge of self-efficacy behaviours regarding sexuality education after the intervention programme. An effective sexuality education programme involves various strategies like role plays, case and situational analysis and stories, which in turn increase the knowledge level of participants, builds positive attitudes and behavioural skills.
