Baroque, full of sensuality and invention, Delteil developed his first book during the Russian revolution. Two young Bolshevik officials, Boris and Nikolai, who have made a pact to go on all their adventures together, arrive at the banks of the Amur river. There they meet Ludmila, a commander of a troop of women. Idealized and mythicized, both fall in love with the possibility of a wild love.
