Sally Fitz-Gibbon is a former special education teacher and the author of On Uncle John's Farm, Pig in the Middle, The Patchwork House and Two Shoes, Blue Shoes, New Shoes. She lives with her husband on Bowen Island, British Columbia. Brian Deines is the critically acclaimed illustrator of Prairie Summer, Camping, and Number 21. He lives in Toronto, Ontario.
