Quantum dots (QD) are very small semiconductor particles, only several nanometres in size, so small that their optical and electronic properties differ from those of larger particles. They are a central theme in nanotechnology. Quantum dots (QD) are very small semiconductor particles, only several nanometres in size, so small that their optical and electronic properties differ from those of larger particles. They are a central theme in nanotechnology. Many types of quantum dot will emit light of specific frequencies if electricity or light is applied to them, and these frequencies can be precisely tuned by changing the dots' size, shape and material, giving rise to many applications.Cadmium sulphide quantum dots are known to be insoluble with aqueous solution which is present in the human body, thus, making it less compatible to use. Direct contact with this compound is hazardous to health.Out of the various types of the nano particle quantum dots is CdS quantum dot which has been studied by previous researchers. But in the cause to study effect of beta-cyclodextrin encapsulation stearic acid CdS quantum dots using the solvothermal synthesis, a research will be carried to know the reaction, the time variance, physical appearances and also the UV-Vis SPEC value.
