More then hundred enclaves figure on the world's map. Number of them strive towards self-determination or independent statehood. Their relationship with the outside world is complex and domestic policy turns always into foreign policy here. Although they believe they are unique enclaves share many common features. This is what this study is about: Gibraltar, Kaliningrad, Ceuta, Melilla, Nagorno Karabakh, Nakhchivan as well as Cabinda are presented in greater detail individually and in a comparative perspective.
