Gudrun Krämer ist Professorin für Islamwissenschaft an der Freien Universität Berlin. Sie war als Nahost-Referentin bei der "Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik" in Ebenhausen bei München tätig (1982 - 1994) und lehrte u.a. in Hamburg, Kairo, Boston, Paris und Bonn.
