This drug became the backbone for chemotherapy with Streptomycin. The wave of happiness generated by the success of this regimen led to the idea that TB eradication would be achievable by 2000s. This was the reason why any further drug enhancements for fighting TB were ceased. However, the lack of a precise administration of these drugs has led to an irruption in the drug resistance of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis.
