The successful endodontic treatment is achieved by a three-dimensional filling of the root canal system, which provides adequate sealing of the dentin structures after chemo-mechanical preparation. Gutta-percha cones are the first choice as filling material due to their suitable physical, chemical and biological properties. However, gutta-percha cones do not bond to the root canal walls and, therefore, a sealer is necessary to attach them to the dentin and fill the empty spaces between the filling and root canal dentin.Different types of endodontic sealers are used in clinical fields, such as resin-based sealers and bioceramic sealers. The ideal sealer should be biocompatible and provide suitable physical, mechanical and chemical properties.
