Thus, emergency endoscopic treatment is an effective therapeutic alternative that can replace surgery. The effectiveness of endoscopic treatment was observed in 84% of our patients, and recurrence was noted in only 4 patients, i.e. a recurrence rate of only 16%. And among the patients who rebled, only one required a surgical procedure, the others were treated medically. Thus, endoscopic hemostasis spared surgery in 96% of patients.
