The main objective of this research is to see the impact of energy use on paddy cultivation in different agro-climatic zones over the country, India. Hence, it is observed that in all zones, direct source of energy has been applying very low proportion than indirect source of energy. It is seen that irrigated area, in general, has the highest indirect source of energy user, but in particular Himalayan region, the highest energy user of indirect source is in rain-fed area. However the output input ratio (i.e. efficiency of the energy) is 7.8 and 5.9 in rain-fed as well as irrigated areas, respectively.
