Nagorno-Karabakh conflict - one of the most violent conflicts in the post-Soviet space - is still a threat to the international peace and security since 1990-s. International organizations such as UN and OSCE and such states as the U.S., Russian Federation, and France are still struggling with the resolution of this violent conflict. Recently, scholars and expert community have started to warn yet again of the possibility of the escalation and war in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh, that belongs to Azerbaijan and remains under the occupation of neighboring Armenia for more than a quarter of the century now. The role of International Law should not be underestimated in such a situation. This book discusses problems of branches of international law, such as International Humanitarian Law and International Criminal Law, in regard to Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict situation and draws the picture of reasons why enforcement of these branches of international law failed in the aforementioned conflict.
