Children are the valuable assets of any society & it is the responsibility of every section of society to contribute to various stages of their development to enable them to realize their full human potential. Children work in highly exploitable conditions & most of them to realize are deprived of even the most minimal educational facilities. The very existence of millions of child labor in India today is a strong reminder of the fact that a tremendous effort has to be made in order to overcome the practice of employment of children. To enable the youth, particularly the student of social work, to carry out effective advocacy and action for prevention of child labor it is necessary to enhance their understanding & knowledge on this issue. It is in this backdrop that the present training programme for the students of social work has been conducted. The OBJECTIVE of the book is to develop motivation & commitment among the participants & to work out strategies for progressive elimination of child labor in respective localities.
