Enos Jones of Augusta County, Virginia, was the son of Robert Jones & Anne Coulston of the Welsh settlement of Gwyndd in what is today Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. They were Friends or Quakers if you prefer, as were the majority of the first settlers of Gwyndd, fleeing from the religious intolerance of 17th Century England. These early Quakers were soon joined by a host of 18th Century settlers from Germany, France, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England who also contributed their unique heritage to the growth of our country's culture. They were quickly followed by others from almost every corner of the world. Around the time of the American Revolution, Enos Jones and his wife Lydia, daughter of Palatine Germans, packed up their family and, along with Lydia's brothers, made their way west into the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The following generations moved on west in search of new lands to farm stopping in Ross County, Ohio, then Linn County, Iowa, and finally in Page County, Iowa where the tale ends.

Autorenporträt
A writer, husband, father to two young children, Jim Schneider began his career at age 17 as a disc jockey on an AM polka radio station in Wisconsin, and has gone on to work as an editor and writer for numerous national magazines in a variety of subject areas, including sustainability, architecture, construction, education, and sports. He is the executive director of a regional construction trade association in Denver, has a passion for sustainable design and construction, and educates architects and engineers in the mountain states. When COVID-19 came on the scene and the world shut down, Jim started a blog called P's & Q: Parenting, Productivity & Quarantine. From March of 2020 through June of 2021, he posted each day his experiences and perspectives on being a working parent navigating difficult times for his kids, his family, his job, and the world in general. During the pandemic, Jim's son Henry was identified as being autistic, inspiring his whole family to educate themselves about neurodiversity and the challenges often faced by individuals with disabilities. Jim now writes about disability parenting topics for publications like Colorado Parent magazine. Jim lives in Denver with his wife, Erin, and children Amelia and Henry. He continues to write about parenting and disability support and is developing a new content initiative called "Parenting in Hell," dedicated to helping parents raise positive kids in a negative world. Look for Parenting in Hell in early 2023. To learn more about Jim and his work, visit writer-schneider.com.
