The idea of supporting herself financially was not attractive to Meredith and she set out to find someone who would keep her in the manner she thought she deserved. Foster Browne was chosen and pursued by her because he was good-looking, successful and they made a handsome couple who would be featured in the social pages. Foster did not know the real Meredith and was dazzled by her sophistication and immaculate presentation.
