The present research aims to provide a refined understanding of the subtleties interface between strategic management and corporate entrepreneurship in high-tech related businesses in Malaysia, by considering the practical factors influencing the decision making processes of such companies. Case companies were selected based on the criteria that they were functioning for more than 5 years and operate in a dynamic growth environment to enhance the understanding of various aspects of strategic practices which relate to a firm's entrepreneurial intensity. The findings show that the most emphasised activities in these high-tech companies are innovativeness and a focus on continuous product improvement. Generally, the case study high-tech companies suggested they would behave cautiously when responding to risk taking. The present research recommended an entrepreneurial model and an outcomes-based corporate entrepreneurship framework, for managers who intend to be more entrepreneurial,and for researchers to use in further studies.
