"Enviramagination" by Sally J Smith is a visual feast for anyone who loves ephemeral art made only from natural materials and/or the joy and whimsy of eclectic fairy houses expertly crafted with architectural details informed by their natural origins. More than a decade in the making, the book celebrates the artist's enchanting and sometimes whimsical creations which fall into 3 basic genre: land art sculptures which the artist calls "Eartherials", spiral mandala-like forms and Fairy Houses made in situ or at her studio workbench which are then placed in gorgeous natural settings. More than 170 photographs in this collection span an entire year of seasonal changes in the northern forest region of the Adirondack mountains of New York where the artist makes her home. Text is kept to a minimum to allow for maximum enjoyment of the stunning images. Mesmerizing and intriguing, this book will be enjoyed for years to come by viewers of any age. Savor the experience again and again. This book also comes in a hard-cover collectors edition version.

Autorenporträt
This project was first conceived as a Kickstarter project back in the day when Kickstarter was first emerging as a crowd-sourced fund-raising platform for creatives. After many, many iterations, false starts, and another book contract with Quarto books which interrupted this project (and took 3 years to complete), at long last THIS book has finally arrived. It has been a long and stormy journey! I felt the weight of the unfinished project get heavier and heavier as the years passed but I never was going to let my initial backers down. That said, there have been important advantages for patiently enduring this extended arc of time. MANY more sculptures were made during these years and have been included in these pages. Also, imaging software has improved greatly over this time period as have my photography and editing skills. Each image is the best I can produce and has been created as a record of an actual moment in time. The sculptures in the images are not fabricated with fancy Photoshop cut and paste techniques. They were all real sculptures made from natural materials. I have used the software only to refine and clean up the photo file when it would improve the final outcome. Had you been with me as I created the sculptures and snapped these photos you would have seen these works just as they are here on the page. My gratitude to my initial Kickstarter supporters knows no bounds. Without their initial faith in my vision this book (both the hardcover and softcover versions) would not have been possible. The final result then is a truly collaborative work; between myself, Nature and all the fans who gave this book their support.
