The book reviews the links between green procurement, sustainable development and sustainable construction and further details international strategies undertaken to help promote green procurement. The present situation of integrating environmental criteria in public procurement of construction work in Portugal is reported. Best practice recommendations are also suggested. Brígida Raquel Pires holds a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from University of Minho, Portugal, and is currently an Assistant Lecturer at the same University. José Manuel Teixeira holds a PhD from Loughborough University of Technology and is currently an Associate Professor of the University of Minho.
