Environmental education for sustainable development is an urgent goal for today's society and a priority task for education, a challenge for which teachers must be prepared. Empirical methods, such as observation, interviews and analysis of documents, mathematical and statistical methods applied, made it possible to confirm that there are insufficiencies in the preparation of early childhood teachers for the integral treatment of environmental education for sustainable development. In order to solve this problem, a Teaching Material is proposed for the treatment of the component Environmental Education for sustainable development. The evaluation of the proposal was carried out by means of the criteria of the experts consulted, who contributed positive criteria on the Teaching Material and the application of methods during and after its application, obtaining satisfactory results in the use of the Teaching Material for the preparation for the treatment of the Environmental Education for Sustainable Development component.
