Human beings have been using all natural resources inappropriately and then eroded these resources at an alarming rate. This is particularly true in the rural areas of Ethiopia in general and Mana Sibu woreda in particular. Objective of study is to identify factors responsible for environmental problems. Questions were prepared and distributed to the concerned individuals. Descriptive type of study was conducted by gathering data from both primary and secondary sources. Primary information was obtained from sample of selected PAs through interview and observing the prevailing environmental conditions. The study confirmed Mana Sibu woreda is facing severe environmental problems where more than th of forest cover have been destroyed, all wild animals migrated and almost both arable and non-arable lands have been eroded. Study identified factors responsible for the depletion of natural resources like fast population growth, high demand of forest products, expansion of agricultural land, over grazing, termite s infestations, lack of proper land use management.
