Envol represents a new option for motivated learners of French. It may be used in two ways: as a self-contained course for 14-16 years old, Envol offers a stimulating direct route to higher levels of GCSE and to Standard Grade (credit) in a single volume; as the first stage in a 14-18 programme, Envol lays a firm foundation for further studies, providing the linguistic, grammatical and study skills needed. Envol leads into the advanced level course Essor. Envol covers all key topic areas, and includes a special focus on: the francophone world; the world of work (with video option); contemporary poetry and fiction; grammar and pronunciation; opinion-giving and debate; dictionary and study skills.
· 16 ten-page units on different topics moving from the personal to the general/community/external · Range of revision activities after every two units providing further practice and consolidation and suitable for class room or home study · Reading section following each revision section containing extracts taken from modern French literature and on themes relating to the previous two units · Final unit provides preparation for examinations in the form of guided practice activities and tips to help students complete tasks successfully · A grammar reference section and a French-English glossary
