Turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) is one of the important spice crops. Turmeric suffers from important foliar disease i.e. leaf blotch caused by Taphrina Maculans Butler, commonly occurring in all turmeric growing areas of India. The disease predominantly occurs in every geographic condition where turmeric is grown. It infects plant leaves and leaf sheath. It reduces total photosynthetic area of the plant leaves. Under severe infection leaf blotch causes enormous loss in rhizome production, it may cause up to 37.6%-52.9% yield losses. Epidemiological study of turmeric may help in preparation of prediction model by that its management can be done easily and there by one can reduce yield losses.
