Initial infection was on the under surface of leaves but under humid conditions white minute pustules developed on both sides. Pustules were also common on inflorescence and floral parts. The upper surface of the leaf became tan. Pustules were surrounded by a yellow halo. A large number of pustules eventually merged together to form larger patches. In some sasses, pustules appeared in a circular arrangement around one big central pustule. Due to formation of large number of sporangia, the host epidermis ruptured to release a mass of white sporangia. In the young stem and inflorescence, various types of deformities were observed with pronounced hypertrophy. Due to hypertrophy and hyperplasia in the host tissues, floral parts show swellings and distortions. In systemically infected plants, stems were thickened, fleshy, pallid and distorted or rolled. In some cases, the entire plant remained stunted and only s
