Rabies is a dangerous endemic zoonotic disease in Nepal, which is responsible for 200 human and 300 animal death annually. Case fatality in human is higher in rural areas where there is lack of awareness to ward rabies, difficulty in assessing health service, unavailability of vaccine and immunoglobulin. Dogs are a major source for transmission of Rabies to human however negligible numbers of dogs are being vaccinated in village. The knowledge on epidemiology, control and prevention is strength to eliminate rabies. Research study is essential to update the existing knowledge however difficult to perform in developing country such as Nepal due to lack of resource. This book entitled "Epidemiology and Molecular Characterization of Rabies Virus in Nepal" is the result of research study which was supported by many international laboratories and organizations. The findings of this research work are very much useful and relevant to develop effective Rabies elimination strategy in Nepal. Respected readers are highly welcome to go through this book and their kind support and suggestions are highly appreciated.
