The epistemological position of the researcher reflects his or her view of what can be known about the world. Known as the Philosophy of Science, Epistemology studies the origin, structure, methods, and validity of scientific knowledge. As science, Epistemology deals with the problems related to belief and knowledge, their nature and limitations. In this context, it is understood that the assumptions underlying research are influenced by the epistemological position of the researcher, which directly affects the methodology adopted and the conduct of scientific research practice.
