The personal inscriptions suggested by the next-of-kin to the War Grave Commission in the aftermath of World War One, although restricted to 66 characters, provide an intimate and humanising impression of the scale of the loss of life in the conflict. This third in a series of collected epitaphs is taken from the graves of soldiers and nurses who died in the final chapter of the war across France and Flanders.
