With more women taking over the reins of several IT organizations, the importance of "Emotionally Intelligent Leaders" is also gaining firm ground. Emotional Intelligence is considered an essential component of success as it taps into the fundamental element of human behaviour which is not only unique but distinct. A new analysis shows women leaders statistically, have an edge in key areas of people-leadership skills leading to success. Women are higher in some components of EQ, due to their caring and nurturing attitude, biological composition and the familial role bestowed upon them by society , thereby providing them with the "edge" to become successful leaders. This research study is descriptive - correlational. 156 Women Leaders with technical and management education, employed in IT firms in Bengaluru were selected as respondents for the study. The research attempts to examine the relationship between success and the five EQ components of Women Leaders in IT. In simple words,the study delves into the EQ-nomics of Women Leaders.
