This book presents some articles regarding research projects' results in the area of Ergonomics and Work Safety. One of these projects was developed in the electric sector with focus on the interface of cognitive and physical aspects. Thus, the research aim was to evaluate human factors, ergonomics and workload of the technical employees of electric power control centers through a multi case study in Portugal and Brazil. Another line of this same project focused on risk factors and accident index in Brazil's electric power system. Another project focused the ergonomic risk for Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs) in upper limbs in activities of footwear assembly, ascertaining the intersectoral differences where 63 activities were assessed, in the three biggest assembly sectors of a footwear factory: (1) cemented sports footwear; (2) vulcanized sports footwear; and (3) waterproof footwear. Lastly, the authors Paulo Sampaio and Pedro Saraiva from Portuguese universities proposed some key results from a statistical analysis performed over data related to the different standards certifications, regarding both the international and national situations.
