Eroticism is a complex, multidimensional problem that borders between art, philosophy, and psychology. The present study examines eroticism as an artistic and aesthetic category. The analysis of eroticism is developed in the direction of researching the diversity of its manifestation in the choreographic art, where eroticism finds its creative comprehension and artistic reflection by means of dance. The aim of the research is to interpret and analyze the artistic interpretation of eroticism in choreographic art on the example of ballet theater and ballroom sports dance in the 20th century. The author defines the concept of "eroticism" in the history of culture and art, presents examples of the interpretation of eroticism in the history of dance culture, substantiates the main trends of the interpretation of eroticism in the choreographic art in the 20th century, analyzes examples of the interpretation of eroticism in the ballet theater and in the direction of ballroom dancing in the 20th century.
