Autorenporträt
As a child, Debra discovered a love of reading. To go on an adventure with Tom Sawyer or solve a mystery with Nancy Drew entertained her for hours and inspired her to put pencil to paper. She graduated to a typewriter in high school and finally to a computer as an adult. Putting words on paper to create a scene, elicit an emotion, encourage imagination, and inspire action has always intrigued her. When she found she could express herself better with written words, the seeds planted as a child grew into a passion. Her own adventures began in Africa where she went to work building and running an orphanage that became home to an average of eighty-five children. The inspiration for her first book, Journey to Sanctuary began there and came to fruition when she returned home. In an effort to expose the very real problem of human trafficking, Debra continued the story in her sequel Journey to Freedom and brought the Escaping the Darkness story full circle. Today Debra lives in the southwestern Colorado town of Montrose, where she works and writes. In her spare time, she enjoys the beautiful outdoors and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Meet her on facebook or at www.sonlightpublishing.com
