To fulfill the purpose of satisfying customerrequirements as efficiently as possible, the area ofsupply chain management has been broadenedsubstantially in the past decade. A lot of effortsare now shifted to study the integration ofactivities in key supply chain processes. We first develop efficientalgorithms for the joint transportation andinventory control problem for a single-warehousemulti-retailer inventory system with full truckloadshipment. Then we study the role that informationplays in a joint production, procurement andinventory control problem for a firm that satisfiesstochastic demand through remanufacturing. Finally,we study the impact of customer profileon the profitability of remanufactured products. Thenew insights offered in these studies should behelpful to professionals in supply chain managementwho are looking for solutions of related problems orare generally interested in the integration ofsupply chain management.
