Pan-Africanism is a concept that has its roots in the global African diaspora and it has served as a means of collective struggle against white racism, particularly in the Americas and Europe. With the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Organization of African Unity/ African Union the concept is now back on the agenda,the team of the celebration being "Pan-African ism and African Renaissance".
