Spanish edition: Penelope Giraffe and Gus Penguin are at home on two different sides of the same world. When something looks upside down to Penelope, it looks right-side up to Gus! As they explore their opposite points of view, will the twosome ever see eye-to-eye? Autorenporträt
Erin Rose Wage will tell you that children's books matter because a lifelong love of reading begins before you can read. She loves to make collages and miniatures, embroider, and perhaps most of all, she loves to read. Her favorite color is green, her favorite texture is corduroy, and her favorite vegetable is celery. She lives in Chicago in a hundred-year-old (not haunted) house with her handsome spouse, a wacky cat, and lots of foliage. Simona Ceccarelli was a medical research scientist, but then she turned her book upside down. As an illustrator, she draws mad scientists, doodles on school books, and shoots cupcake rockets. Sometimes she stands on her head while she draws, and sometimes on one foot, but she always uses her right hand...or is it the other one? She has illustrated If You Had Your birthday Party on the Moon and SOIC and Friends. She lives in Switzerland with four languages, three nationalities, two kids, and one husband. Ana Izquierdo is a Mexican editor and translator. Her love for books runs deep, and all kinds of volumes fill her cozy home. She creates many different things with her hands: beautiful stories for children in Spanish, warm blankets for the babies she loves and detailed embroideries for special clothes. She is driven by a need to always improve, to find new ways to enjoy life and to evolve... just like a Pokémon! Every day, since the first time she could read a line, Arlette de Alba has deeply enjoyed the stories in books. She loves discovering new worlds, cultures, and languages in them, and delights in finding the differences between the Spanish from Mexico, where she lives, and that of other parts of Latin America and Spain. Arlette has participated in the creation of more than a thousand books, either as writer, translator, editor, or publishing coordinator.
