The kroon is the currency of Estonia. It is subdivided into 100 senti (singular sent). The word kroon, meaning "crown", is related to that of other Nordic currencies (such as the Swedish krona and Norwegian krone) and to the Latin word corona ("crown"). In 1927, Nikolai Köstner was nominated the Minister of Finance's representative at Eesti Pank. In 1928, he became the government's commissioner at the Bank.
