There are a number of single heterosexual women who choose to become mothers without the involvement of a father, opting for donor insemination. This paper aims to identify the demographic characteristics and motivations that lead women to make the decision to become single mothers through assisted reproduction techniques (ART) with donation and to reflect on their experiences, family relationships and the ethical dilemmas that arise from them.
