Ethics represents a significant challenge for the health systems in the world, since at the moment in which the work dilemmas are generated, they try to be solved based on bioethical principles, and these in one way or another influence the results. It is known that ethics is in charge of the systematic study of human conduct both in personal life and in health, surrounded by values and moral principles. On the other hand, clinical laboratories involve the constant interaction of the professional, patient and community, therefore, a quality service must be provided based on trust, with relevant information that promotes a comfortable environment. From the above mentioned, it is defined that it is important the application of ethics in clinical laboratory work, to ensure quality care and relationship between health personnel, since their results depend on this application. But it is necessary to know the background of these results, for this reason, this review presented a perspective of ethics and its influence on clinical laboratory work.
