Water, integral part of the natural environment, is a basic natural resource for sustaining life and satisfying various social and economic needs of the given community. Availability/quantity and quality determines how it can be used for various purposes and determines the location of human activities, settlements, and the quality of life. How ever, water is a renewable, but a finite and vulnerable resource to depletion and contamination. In response to this, the Water Resources Management Policy is one among other development policies of Ethiopia with strategies emanated from the policy document. Therefore, synthesizing the policy and other ancillary documents including performances so far are being an essential issue for recommending corrective measures in recent times.
