However, traditional folk knowledge is passed on in unrecorded form. Medicinal plants are an important tool for promoting health, both for rural and urban populations. The aims of this research were to retrieve and record traditional folk knowledge on the subject among students at the IFSULDEMINAS Campus Muzambinho - MG. The work contributes to the traditional popular rescue of medicinal plants and their registration, thus avoiding the extinction of this knowledge and helping to ensure that this tradition does not come to an end. Thus, transmitting the correct knowledge of how to use medicinal herbs and the ideal preparation of each one.

Maria Vitória Pereira Vicente is currently a student at IFSULDEMINAS - Campus Muzambinho - MG, and intends to work in the medical field. Her interest in medicinal plants arose in 2017, with the aim of preserving knowledge about the healing power of herbs. The project behind this work was presented at the 9th IFSULDEMINAS Scientific Conference.
