Earthworms are soil macro-invertebrate oligochaete annelid, playing an important role in the sustainability of soil and productivity. Lampito mauritii (kinberg) is a well known indigenous earthworm with various traditional medicinal values.In this book, all of them from our research work, have been discussed on the antioxidant, anti-Inflammatory, antipyretic, hepatoprotective, antiulceral and antimicrobial effects of earthworm extracts and paste of L. mauritii by in-vitro and in-vivo methods. This book can be used as an under and post graduate text / reference book in Zoology, Life science and Pharmacology and also be useful to researchers who are concerned with ethromedicine and earthworm pharmacology. Dr. Kasi Parthasarathi obtained his M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D from Annamalai University (AU), India. At present,he is working as Assistant Professor in Zoology Department (AU).He has published 44 research articles and 3 books in reputed overseas publishers. He has visited ETH, Switzerland and had DST, UGC projects.
