Among the main Brazilian biomes is the Atlantic Rainforest, where the Dênis Gonçalves Settlement is located, an area of the former Fazenda Fortaleza de Santana, in Goianá, in the state of Minas Gerais. An ethnopharmacological study was carried out in this area with the members of the Dênis Gonçalves Settlement (MST) and also with settlers descended from the former residents of the old Fazenda Fortaleza de Santana, in order to assess the transfer of ethnopharmacological knowledge and also the degree of vulnerability of the use of the main native species used. To this end, the study methodology used semi-structured interviews, the collection of botanical material and vouchers in herbaria, quantitative analysis, using the calculation of risk of use and value of use, comparisons of ethnopharmacological knowledge in relation to scientific literature and the recommendations of ANVISA's RDC-10. Using statistical calculations, the medicinal plants were selected in terms of their relevance for use by the interviewees and their current state of conservation for the native species of the Atlantic Forest, to provide subsidies for the construction of a sustainable management plan.
