The monograph analyzes the reasons, peculiarities of the course and practice of ethno-political conflicts resolution in the Republic of Dagestan during the period from 2006 to 2010. The author clarifies the concept of ethno-political conflict as applied to the research region in modern conditions. The conflict potential of the political system in the Republic of Dagestan is assessed. Based on the analysis of socio-economic factors of ethno-political problems actualization, the land issue is singled out as the dominant cause of local interethnic conflicts. The paper shows that modern contradictions of land legal relations in Dagestan are determined by traditional legitimacy in the eyes of the population of communal land ownership. As a result of discrepancies between legal and historical land ownership rights of owners, politicization of conflicts on any problems arising in the sphere of land legal relations based on mobilization of ethnicity of the parties to the confrontation is inevitable.
