As the EU seeks to integrate even further to strengthen its role as a global actor, an evident shift needs to be made to portray itself as an entity with far-reaching capabilities and influence. It is the objective of this cross-regional study to gauge the perceptions of the EU in these influential ASEAN member states in a scientifically and easily comprehensible manner. As with The EU through the Eyes of Asia Volume I that looked at perceptions of the EU in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Thailand, this publication provides local and international stakeholders alike insights into the role and scope of the EU's relations within Asia as a whole and within each research location. The data collected is very unique in its scope as it allows the reader to view what Asians really think of the EU in terms of its role as a political, economic and social actor.
