Submerged arc welding is an advance non-conventional welding technology which used in a major area of an industries. Submerged arc welding, because of its inherent benefits such as higher metal deposition rate, good strength of the joint and good surface appearance, is extensively used in the fabrication of pressure vessels, pipe lines and off-shore structures. Welding flux constitutes nearly half of the cost in SAW process. Over the years, development of better welding flux compositions in terms of mechanical properties and productivity is sensational research work for researchers. The present book shows the work is an attempt to study the effect of additives in flux with different percentage using basicity index on the hydrogen induced cracking and mechanical properties like tensile strength, Impact strength, micro hardness, microstructure, of weld bead made during the submerged arc welding. The effect of different kind of fluxes by keeping the welding parameters like welding current, welding voltage and welding speed constant has been evaluated for the different weld joints.
