Processing is one of the most effective solutions to reduce the wastages. Scientific packaging and storage of candy reduces the post harvest losses and marketing costs substantially, which enables the producer to fetch a competitive price. The study has aimed to physico-chemical composition of ber fruit of different cultivars, screening of different cultivars for preparation of candy and to evaluate the packaging containers for ber candy and cost: benefit ratio. The possibility and the use of ber for the production of candy will create employment, income generation for farmers and address the post harvest losses associated with market glut.
