In clinical point of view, drugs acting on CNS are important. The action of drugs on CNS is particularly challenging because it demands an understanding of cellular and molecular biology of brain . CNS disease can affect either the brain or the spinal cord, resulting in neurological or psychiatric disorders. Causes of CNS diseases are trauma, infection, degeneration, autoimmune disorders, tumors and stroke. CNS disorders include abnormalities in both physical and psychological domains. The results of present study concludes that the MEBM exhibited significant antidepressant activity rather than anxiolytic action. Further studies are necessary to elucidate the mechanism behind it's traditional effects.
